dog of the month

The Friends of Many Tears are in the business of promoting Many Tears Animal Rescue and raising much needed funds. However we could not resist having a Dog of the Month. Please check this page each month to see who we have chosen. Could it be the dog of your dreams?

November 2008

Update from Many Tears: This beautiful boy loves his food and will learn new tricks and activities quickly when food is involved. He loves to follow his human friend and especially loves it when his human is running around and ready to play with him. He gets on well with the dogs he has met here at the kennels and would love to find his own special person to call his own.

Badger has been chosen this month by Jenni and he is a very worthy choice as he has been waiting since August to find his forever home. Badger is a 20 month Collie x Lab who came into Many Tears with his brother Beaver. Badger did go into Foster but was returned through no fault of his own. Beaver was rehomed but is now back at the centre so both brothers are still waiting for their forever home.

Badger is still quite nervous and when Glenda went to visit him at the start of the month he barked as she approached but this was just his nerves as almost immediately he changed into a lovely waggly dog. He will in time, given the right owners have such a lot to offer. He has learnt a lot during his stay in foster and now needs someone who can continue to teach him. On a plus side he loves playing, is good with other dogs and people, just loving his cuddles.

So could you be the person or family that Badger is looking for to guide him, continue to train him and give him the love and forever home that he so needs. If so please get in touch with Many Tears. To adopt a dog from Many Tears Animal Rescue you will be home checked and you and all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the new dog. All dogs are micro-chipped, inoculated and spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. A minimum adoption fee of £140 is asked for. If you are interested in adopting, please call the rescue centre between 10am and 4pm on 01269 843084. They are unable to return phone calls so please try again if your call is not answered.

Ted has been rehomed

Ted has been chosen this month by Debbie who runs our Bristol street collections. Chosen because she feels he isn't the sort of dog who would be snapped up immediately so if we can help by showing him off here so much the better. She thinks he is very cute and very fluffy and would be a fine candidate for lots of cuddles. Indeed this is the news from Many Tears as well where this lovely, sweet boy is definitely enjoying his cuddles.

Ted is a 4 year old Chow Chow. Chows originate from China and they are thought to be one of the oldest breeds. The literal translation of their Chinese name is "puffy lion dog" and you can see why from the pictures. Chows are unusual and quite a unique type of dog. However all this aside, Ted is a very nice fellow with lots of character and walks very well on a lead. He will however, require a lot of grooming.

He is an ex stud dog so would love to retire now into some cosy home, where he will be loved forever and be a part of the family. If you feel Ted could be the boy for you, do please make enquiries. Ted is being fostered in Abbeydale, Gloucestershire. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the Foster Dog Adoption Form or contact Kevin between 10am and 4pm on 01249 655323. To adopt a dog from Many Tears Animal Rescue you will be home checked and you and all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog you want to adopt MUST come to meet the new dog. All our dogs are micro-chipped, inoculated and spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. We ask for a minimum adoption fee of £150 for our foster dogs to help cover our costs.

May and June 2008

For May and June we will feature the 6 German Shepherds that recently arrived from appalling conditions in North Wales. These beautiful dogs all deserve a chance of a better life, if you could offer this chance to one of these dogs please go to the dogs looking for homes page of the Many Tears website to read more about each individual dog.

Other Choices

If our chosen Dog of the Month isn't quite what you are looking for, Sylvia has numerous other dogs at Many Tears, all of which can be viewed at the Many Tears site. All of these dogs are equally deserving of a good home, so please, if you are in a position to give a dog a home, do have a look to see if there is a four-legged friend for you at Many Tears. Follow this link for Dogs Looking for Homes.

Maybe you aren't a dog person, but just can't say no to a cat to curl up on your lap for an evening in front of the TV. Sylvia also has a cattery at Many Tears. Follow this link for Cats Looking for Homes.
