The Friends of Many Tears are in the business of promoting Many Tears Animal Rescue and raising much needed funds. However we could not resist having a Dog of the Month. Please check this page each month to see who we have chosen. Could it be the dog of your dreams?
Update 9 April: Joe Dolan has been rehomed
Joe Dolan is an 18 month old collie cross. He is a gentle, sweet-natured dog with good doggy social skills. He was named after a singer who died the day he was found. Joe Dolan came over from Limerick Animal Welfare in Ireland where he has been waiting for a home for a long time! Joe Dolan is very special and other than pulling on the lead is just perfect. We are sure that with some good training, he will soon be perfect on the lead as well. As you can see from the photo, he is a good-looking boy as well as having a lovely nature.
He has waited for a long time in Ireland for a home but has now come to Wales in the hope that he will soon find that special forever home. If you think that you could offer that home, please do not keep him waiting any longer.
Please call the rescue centre between 10am and 4pm on 01269 843084. They are unable to return phone calls so please try again if your call is not answered. Alternatively, email Sylvia at sw.vanatta@virgin.net
Pickles has been rehomed
Our
March Dog of the Month has been chosen by Beth. It was hard for Beth to
choose just one dog as they all need a chance but as she has been owned by a
collie cross in the past and they are real favourites with her she decided
on Pickles.
Pickles is an 8 month old collie cross who was so lucky to be saved from the
pound by Christine at CARA. She has spent over three months with Christine
and now has a place at Many Tears but hopefully she will not be there long
as she is a gentle, sensitive sweetheart. The Pound said that she was
aggressive but this little lady was just scared to death. She has been
through so much so please consider this lovely youngster. Pickles is now in
foster in Newport. If you are interested in adopting her, please complete
the
Foster Dog Adoption Form or contact Kevin on 01249 650997. To adopt a
dog from Many Tears, you will be home checked. You and all members of your
family and any dogs who will be living with the dog must come to meet
the new dog.
This girl really does need a chance and so do all the Bull Breeds that came
to Many Tears the same time as her. Jack is just lovely, friendly and oh so
waggy. Another four of the bull breeds were in the exercise yard today when
Glenda walked through. All greeted her so enthusiastically and all four were
getting on so well together. Please do not listen to bad press but judge
each dog on its own merits. They all deserve a chance.
Update 30 March: Pasty has been rehomed
Pasty has been chosen as our first Dog of the Month for 2008 by Jacqui.
Jacqui has been a Friend of Many Tears
since we were founded in January 2007. She recently spent a week at Many
Tears with her hubby and knows at first
hand about all the dogs that need loving, forever homes. Pasty is one such
dog. He came across from Ireland and is
now about 15 months old. It is not known if he has ever had a home so might
well have spent his whole life in
kennels. So this lovely boy deserves a chance to learn all about the
comforts of home life. Jacqui says sighthounds
are a pleasure to own, having owned two, she says they need a good run but
are then ready for a good long sleep.
Pasty is a beautiful Deerhound cross and is Deerhound sized, so owing to his
size needs open space to exercise.
Although he is huge he still feels he should put his paws on your shoulders
to greet you. He plays hard with other
dogs and holds their necks and wrestles but he is never aggressive. With
fast dogs he just plays chase. He would
unfortunately chase cats.
Pasty loves to be loved and loves to run. As he is so big and fast it is felt that he could knock little ones over so a more adult family would be best. A family who know all about lurchers but would not work one. Also Patsy would need an indoor home, so a kennel however nice will not do.
So to sum it all up...Pasty is a big, beautiful, young dog. A real stunner who will turn heads. He is great with other dogs and adores people. His other loves are running, playing, comfort and sleep. Is he just what you have been looking for? Being fostered in St Just, Cornwall. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please complete the Foster Dog Adoption Form or contact Kevin on 01249 650997. To adopt a dog from Many Tears Animal Rescue, you will be home checked. You and all members of your family and any dogs who will be living with the dog must come to meet the new dog.
'I hope Rover gets back with the sandwiches soon. I'm starving'

If our chosen Dog of the Month isn't quite what you are looking for, Sylvia has numerous other dogs at Many Tears, all of which can be viewed at the Many Tears site. All of these dogs are equally deserving of a good home, so please, if you are in a position to give a dog a home, do have a look to see if there is a four-legged friend for you at Many Tears. Follow this link for Dogs Looking for Homes.

Maybe you aren't a dog person, but just can't say no to a cat to curl up on
your lap for an evening in front of the
TV. Sylvia also has a cattery at Many Tears. Follow this link for
