After a talk with Sylvia of Many Tears Animal Rescue in December 2006 Friends of Many Tears was born. A small piece went on the events page at the Many Tears website and I was pleasantly surprised how we 'took off'.
We are a completely voluntary organisation whose sole purpose is to help Many Tears. We are, at present, a relatively small group. I would love to see our numbers grow to help promote Many Tears and to make a significant financial contribution. We would welcome new Friends from all over the country. All pulling together to raise funds for Many Tears. All contributing to one central bank account so that anytime Sylvia needs money she only has to make one enquiry. We are ideally placed here in Swansea as we are close enough to get to Many Tears in 30 minutes if cash were needed for an emergency. We will primarily help with the enormous vet's bills which can be £1400 a week. However, if Sylvia needs something and we have the funds available, we will gladly get what she needs. We aim to have several handovers a year, which we hope will include press coverage that could ultimately lead to dogs finding new forever homes.
We all have a passion for the dogs and admire the work done by Sylvia and her volunteers. Please consider joining us, as the bigger we get, the more we can help make Many Tears even more successful than it already is. It is a fitting tribute to Sylvia and the amazing work that she does.
I have been a fund-raiser for many years and hope to do a good job for Many Tears. Please look through the website, decide if you would like to join us and see if there is any way that you could help. You can contact me, Glenda Fry, at glenda.fry@btinternet.com.
